Hi Folks. Haven't been on the forum for ages. Had difficulty signing in.

Some of you may know via Facebook that I had the metal taken out of my right ankle
in December. ThumbDown

Well about 8 days ago I caught my right big toe coming in from garage to kitchen. Thought
nothing more about it (as one does). Then last Tues/Wed started to get a slight pain
up the front of the leg which continued to get more and more painful. By the time Monday came
when the district nurse called to dress my ulcer I wouldn't put my foot down. (Plus the tears!)
She got my GP to call who duly sent me to A & E, was x-rayed and was found to have a
pathalogical fracture of the tibia. Home yesterday afrter spending 4 days in hosp. Now on elbo crutches and moonboot.Sad Sad Sad

I hope you are all feeling o.k. and that you haven't been too achey in the cold spell.

Love and take care
Marlene xx

P.S. I am still the oldie Marlene1 but have been given a new users name as mentioned above
lots of probs logging in.

Hello Marlene and welcome back.

So sorry to hear about your fracture, the pain must have been dreadful. I wonder how you will mange the crutches? Never mastered it myself and was stuck at home for months when I had a foot op. Arms just not able to manage them.

Hope that you feel better soon.

Hi Marlene,

Welcome back! I`ve been wondering how you were - I put up a post on the old forum, just before we changed, asking did anyone know how you were.

I`m really sorry to hear about your leg - just what you didn`t want. I hope it heals well, and you manage to get about OK on your crutches. Was it the Freeman you were in? I have an appointment there in a couple of weeks time.

Are you still having your ulcer dressed? You must be feeling really fed up at present, so I hope things improve for you.

Take care,

Kathleen x

Hi folks

Many thanks for your kind wishes. I am quite an expert with the crutches having had so many leg/ankle ops.

Lovely to hear from you Kathleen.
No I wasn't at Freeman this time. My GP sent me to the General Hospital as Freeman don't have an A & E Dept. but I wish they did. Don't like the General.

Yes I am still getting the ulcer dressed. Mr Siddique who took out the metal work in my ankle just before Christmas
thinks I should be referred to the vascular team at the Freeman but it will now have to wait until the fracture heals.

Hope your aches and pains are not too bad.

Love
Marlene xx
